Dr. John Sakson is the primary dentist at Century Dental’s new Lake Winola office.  A Peckville native, Dr. John attended Valley View High School; he went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Scranton in 2010 with his bachelor’s degree in Biology.  Dr John then obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2014 and completed a one-year residency in general dentistry at the Wilkes-Barre VA medical center right after Kornberg.

Following residency, Dr. John worked part-time at several practices throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.  He was also employed full-time at a private practice outside of Philadelphia in Upper Darby for five years, but love for his hometown ultimately brought him back to the Scranton Area.

Dr. Sakson constantly strives to expand his dental expertise; he belongs to the Academy of General Dentistry which mandates additional relevant Continuing Education for members each year.  Whenever possible, Dr. John also attends “Dentistry from the Heart” charity events, where patients receive free care regardless of their insurance coverage.  His favorite cases in dentistry are those that improve not only the patient’s health but also their mindset, bringing together functional and aesthetic improvements. In his free time, he likes to remain active by hiking state game lands with his golden retriever.
